Mix it Up : Traditional + Modern Styles

The key to great decorating is mixing a few different styles into a room.  This gives the room character and contrast.  It also keeps a room from looking like you went to the store and bought everything from the same furniture line...a feeling of collecting pieces over time.

You may also love 2 or 3 different styles and don't want to have to choose.  I love the look of a modern home but often feel like its too cold for everyday living. This is where adding traditional elements into the room can make it feel more warm and inviting.

Concrete

I have always loved the look of concrete in home decor.  It is often associated with an industrial modern style, but it can easily be incorporated into any home. I've gathered up a few pretty "pinterest" pictures showing this trend....

Love the look of concrete floors!!  Good idea to have a heating system underneath or area rugs.

And one of the most common uses of concrete...on the counter tops.  Definitely more maintenance required as they need to be regularly sealed, but they really bring a wow factor to the kitchen!

CB2 x Kravitz Design

I have been waiting patiently for the release of  CB2 x Kravitz Design.... and they didn't disappoint!
